Barrier-free upgrade of the Gündlkofen transport station

18.10.2024

The Wadle Construction Company GmbH has upgraded the Gündlkofen transport station to be barrier-free on behalf of DB InfraGO AG. The two platforms in need of renovation were completely demolished and replaced with new, 210-meter-long platforms.

Project Highlights:

  • Barrier-free access: The new platforms feature access ramps, a tactile guidance system for the visually impaired, and an optimized height to facilitate access for all passengers, including those with reduced mobility and travelers with strollers.
  • Efficient implementation: The entire project was completed in just 61 days, with a tight construction period of three weeks for the demolition and renewal of the platforms.
  • First train operation: On September 25, 2024, at 10:43 PM, the first passenger train arrived punctually at the new platform.

We thank our dedicated team of over 40 employees, whose efforts were crucial to the success of the project. Their commitment minimized the disruption of rail traffic on the important route between Landshut and Munich.
