Since mid-November, the SWIETELSKY branch in Burghausen has been carrying out extensive deep and road construction work on the company premises.
The existing truck and car parking lot is being expanded. Asphalt work will be carried out over a total of 3,900 square meters in a two-layer structure. The access to the new parking spaces will be renovated and enlarged. For these measures, the factory fence must be dismantled and rebuilt after completion. An important point is the construction of a surface drainage system for the new asphalt areas. Rainwater will first be directed into a settling tank and then into a new infiltration basin. The contract sum amounts to around 500,000 euros. The work is expected to be completed in April 2022.
The location of Borealis Polymere GmbH in Burghausen is part of the Borealis Group: one of the global leaders in advanced and circular-oriented polyolefin solutions and the European market leader in the fields of basic chemicals, plant nutrients, and mechanical recycling of plastics. Around 240 employees operate two production facilities for polypropylene (PP) at the Burghausen site with a total capacity of around 560,000 tons per year.
