Height clearance work at the Pürtener Kreuz junction near Waldkraiburg successfully completed
28.04.2026On behalf of the Rosenheim State Building Authority, SWIETELSKY, in collaboration with Josef Rädlinger Bauunternehmen GmbH as part of a joint venture, successfully completed the clearance of the Pürten junction near Waldkraiburg. This infrastructure project is one of the most significant transport-related initiatives in the region and was carried out whilst traffic continued to flow, with a high degree of precision and close coordination between all parties involved.
The existing junction of the St2091 and St2352 state roads, as well as the level crossing on the Mühldorf–Rosenheim line, were converted into a grade-separated junction. As part of the project, three roundabouts, a road overpass and a railway overpass were constructed. The aim of the project was to improve road safety, optimise traffic flow and modernise the existing infrastructure in a sustainable manner.
Within the joint venture, SWIETELSKY contributed in particular its expertise in asphalt and road construction. The services provided included:
• Asphalt, paving and road marking works
• Installation of traffic guidance systems
• Traffic safety measures throughout the entire construction period
• Laying of approximately 16,000 tonnes of asphalt
• Design of the three roundabouts and three pedestrian crossings with granite paving
The construction schedule presented a particular challenge: the project was carried out in six phases, with changing traffic arrangements. This meant that high standards had to be met in terms of logistics, safety and coordination. This makes the project’s success all the more gratifying: the final asphalt works were completed as early as autumn 2025, some four months ahead of the originally scheduled completion date. Final remaining works are currently underway whilst traffic continues to flow.
This project is a striking example of how high-quality infrastructure construction is achieved through a combination of sound planning, precise execution and collaborative partnership. We would like to thank everyone involved in the project – from the client and the planning and construction management teams to our joint venture partner – for their professional and solution-oriented cooperation.
