Maxplatz receives comprehensive redesign

The southern part of Maxplatz is undergoing a comprehensive transformation. From the junction of Marienstraße/Maxstraße into Maxplatz to the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Bahnhofstraße and Stadtplatz, the square will be redesigned. The main goal of this planning is to create an inviting square atmosphere and improve the quality of stay for the citizens.

The entire square area will be redesigned with high-quality granite paving stones. As part of these changes, the existing Rupertus Fountain will be dismantled and replaced with an impressive fountain field.

Here are the main services at a glance:

  • Removal of concrete paving: approx. 1,500m²
  • Removal of granite paving stones: approx. 600m
  • Installation of pipelines: approx. 300m
  • Installation of 33 new street drain covers
  • Creation of a frost protection layer: approx. 2,000m³
  • Installation of drain asphalt: approx. 700m²
  • Use of large granite cobblestones for surface stabilization: approx. 3,300m²
  • Construction of a fountain field
  • Creation of 11 tree quarters
  • Provision of furniture, equipment, play equipment, and a drinking fountain

 

The contract amount totals 3.17 million euros gross.

The redesign of Maxplatz will not only enhance the cityscape but also create a lively and attractive meeting point for the residents.
