The comprehensive renovation of the Starnberg–Murnau railway line has been successfully completed. The goal was to eliminate mud spots and improve the stability and operational safety of the line.
Project scope:
- Section 1: Huglfing–Uffing (532 m)
- Section 2: Starnberg–Tutzing (209 m)
- Section 3: Uffing–Murnau (180 m)
Originally, 1,305 meters were planned, but 921 meters were completed. The heavy siltation slowed down the construction progress.
Key construction works:
- Cleaning of the track bed
- Installation of PSS KG1 for stabilization
- Laying of geocomposite material
- Tamping and welding work for track reinforcement
Material usage:
- 1,300 tons of gravel
- 3,000 tons of PSS KG1
- 921 meters of geocomposite material
- 26 welds
Construction period: December 8–20, 2024 (break on December 14–15 due to schedule change)
Despite the challenges, the project was completed on time. The renewed track sections will enhance the safety and performance of the line in the future. Project manager Tchuente Kom ensured a smooth process.
