Six weeks of full closure of the state road between Achthal and Oberteisendorf - end of the winter break, pedestrian and bicycle path back under construction
11.03.2022In the week after next, starting March 21, the state road between Achthal and Oberteisendorf will be fully closed for about 6 weeks. The construction work for the new pedestrian and bicycle path along the St2102 was resumed last week after the winter break. While construction could previously take place while maintaining traffic, the reconstruction of the state road in the area before and after the Kumpfmühl Bridge will now require a full closure of the state road for all traffic. Overall, the construction work is expected to last until the middle of the year. The market Teisendorf and the Free State of Bavaria are investing about 750,000 EURO in traffic safety, especially for pedestrians and cyclists.
“Finally, it’s happening,” was the sentiment expressed last autumn by many affected residents from the districts of Achthal and Oberteisendorf. After the renewal of the Kumpfmühl Bridge was delayed for various reasons, the construction of the new pedestrian and bicycle path had to wait accordingly for the reconstruction of the state road before and after the bridge. However, last year, the State Building Authority in Traunstein was able to at least begin construction work on the new pedestrian and bicycle path. The laying of municipal utility lines was already carried out as a preliminary measure last year. In the following weeks, the state road will be adjusted in its alignment with the new pedestrian and bicycle path to the Kumpfmühl Bridge, which was renewed in 2020. While the previous work could largely be carried out under traffic or possibly under half-side traffic management with traffic light regulation, a full closure is now inevitably required. The detour and corresponding signage will be carried out as with the renewal of the Kumpfmühl Bridge, only on a large scale via the district road to Siegsdorf and the federal roads via Traunstein to Teisendorf. The completion of the construction work is scheduled for around the end of June.
