Successful completion of the superstructure reinforcement PAN 12 is imminent

23.07.2024

The SWIETELSKY branch in Burghausen is in the final stages of the work for the superstructure reinforcement of PAN 12 Bleichenbach – Asenham as well as the renewal of the supporting structure Steina near Bad Birnbach. With a contract sum of 1,995,265.56 euros, this significant project was planned and commissioned by the Rottal-Inn district. The construction work is expected to be completed by the end of August.

Extensive modernization for more safety and efficiency

The project, which began at the end of November 2023, includes extensive measures to improve infrastructure and increase traffic safety. The superstructure reinforcement over approximately 2245 meters in length and the renewal of the supporting structure will ensure the long-term stability and load-bearing capacity of the route. These works are an important contribution to the maintenance and modernization of the regional transport network.

Special challenges and innovative solutions

A special feature of the project was the construction of a supporting structure 90 meters long with granite block stones as well as a cushion wall made of flexible geogrid in handling technology. The renovation of the retaining wall was carried out in the district of Steina. There, the name is program, which made the work more difficult. The full expansion was carried out over a length of about 330 meters. Another challenge is the necessary stream diversion over approximately 110 meters in length, which was successfully solved through the use of sheet piles. In addition, this project involves the installation of approximately 480 meters of pipelines up to DN 800 mm to enhance road drainage and rainwater runoff.

Excellent collaboration and efficient implementation

Thanks to the excellent collaboration with authorities and partner companies, the construction work can be carried out efficiently. Melanie Harpf serves as the construction manager on behalf of the Rottal-Inn district, while the SWIETELSKY branch in Burghausen is represented by construction manager Andreas Pospiech. Manfred Schuster, as foreman, significantly contributes to the successful implementation of the project with his dedicated team.
