Successful implementation of the infrastructure project: Media tunnel under the A95 in southern Munich

The SWM Infrastruktur GmbH & Co. KG is implementing a significant infrastructure project in the southern part of Munich. As part of the renewal of a 110 kV supply line and the relocation of a tram rectifier plant (TGW) network connection, a media tunnel DN800 was constructed under the A95 motorway.

The project involved the construction of a tunnel approximately 80 meters long using the tunneling method through gravelly soil. This challenging task was successfully completed thanks to modern technology and the experience of the companies involved. The company Wadle was responsible for the professional construction of the starting and target pits as well as their shoring.

With this measure, SWM Infrastruktur not only ensures a reliable power supply in southern Munich but also creates a future-proof connection for the tram infrastructure. This optimization of the supply networks is another step towards the sustainable development of the city of Munich.
