The Freitag Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG has awarded the Wadle Bauunternehmung GmbH the contract for the execution of horizontal directional drilling under the A9 motorway near Ingolstadt. As part of this project, protective pipes for power cables were installed using advanced and environmentally friendly technology.
Over a distance of approximately 174 meters, the A9 was successfully crossed using the HDD drilling method. Particularly noteworthy is the use of the environmentally conscious drilling method in conjunction with Wadle's in-house recycling facility. This sustainable approach helps to reduce the consumption of bentonite, a fluid commonly used in drilling operations, thereby significantly lowering environmental impact.
This project impressively demonstrates how innovative and environmentally friendly methods can be integrated into construction and proves that infrastructure improvements and environmental protection can be compatible.
