SWIETELSKY masters challenging construction project on the Rossfeld Panorama Road

04.11.2024

The Rossfeld Panorama Road, at 1,570 meters the highest continuous road in Germany, has been renovated over a 2.3-kilometer section. The construction company SWIETELSKY carried out the work on behalf of the State Building Authority Traunstein. In addition to a new asphalt surface, three parking bays were also renewed.

Particular challenges were posed by the three narrow hairpin bends, which required precise work due to their steepness and a road width of only 5.70 to a maximum of 11.6 meters. However, even a winter onset in mid-September could not stop the construction project. Once the affected road section was cleared of snow and ice, work could continue swiftly. The new asphalt surface was completed within two days.

Thanks to the successful renovation, the popular panorama road is back in excellent condition and continues to offer locals and tourists breathtaking views of the alpine landscape.
