Technically demanding construction project completed on time
SWIETELSKY has successfully and timely completed the comprehensive track renewal on the Lindau–Hergatz route. Despite challenging geological conditions and complex construction requirements, the project was realized within the planned timeframe.
The measure included the complete renewal of both track lines over a total length of approximately 6.7 kilometers. Powerful large machines were used, including RU 800 S, PM 200-2R, PM1000 URM, Stopfexpress 09-4X, EM-SAT, and BDS 2000.
Technical services at a glance:
- 116 welds
- 450 meters of new TE construction
- over 6,700 meters of tamping work
Complex conditions in the subsoil
The construction environment was particularly challenging: In the subsoil of both tracks, there were a total of 248 boulders with a diameter of up to 90 centimeters in the machine's clearing chain area. These significantly complicated the demolition and new construction and required the highest precision and operational flexibility.
Additionally, the dense sequence of several level crossings placed high demands on machine logistics. The supply and disposal vehicles of the deployed systems had to be regularly adjusted and shortened. Extreme temperatures during the construction period also led to additional stress for personnel and technology.
Night shifts and special services
In the section between Weißensberg and Lindau station, an additional 10,350 meters of track were tamped and leveled in three night shifts of four hours each – a significant contribution to stabilizing the section of track. Additionally, two catch devices were installed and removed.
Successful project implementation thanks to teamwork and technology
Despite challenging conditions, the project was completed on time and with high execution quality. The result underscores the performance of the technology used as well as the collaboration of all project participants – from precise planning to operational implementation to successful commissioning.
