In the Heilbronn-Klingenberg area, SWIETELSKY Deutschland successfully completed a demanding rail construction project.
Despite changeable and at times adverse weather conditions, the works were delivered on schedule—thanks to the entire project team’s commitment, precision and flexibility.
The focus of the project was the renewal of a total of five turnouts. In addition, for each turnout, between 30 and 50 metres of connecting track were replaced using conventional construction methods. The turnout ballast beds were also fully renewed. Following the track and turnout works, tamping operations were carried out and, in sections, deep drainage was installed to ensure long-term track geometry stability and operational safety.
Key project figures at a glance:
Removal of 810 m of old rails
Removal of 519 old sleepers
Replacement of 1.121 m³ of old ballast bed material
Installation of 368 m of new rails
Installation of 519 new sleepers
Placement of 425 t of new ballast
All works were executed entirely using conventional construction methods. Close coordination among all parties, the targeted use of modern equipment, and smooth on-site cooperation were decisive factors in achieving successful project completion.
