The Rossfeld Panorama Road, at 1,570 metres Germany’s highest continuous road, was successfully rehabilitated along a 2.3-kilometre section. SWIETELSKY Deutschland carried out the works on behalf of the Traunstein State Building Authority. In addition to installing a new asphalt wearing course, three parking bays were also renewed to further improve the infrastructure for visitors.

The works placed high demands on the team: three tight hairpin bends, with a carriageway width of only 5.70 to a maximum of 11.6 metres, required precise workmanship and particular technical care. In addition, an early winter onset in mid-September caused short-term delays. After clearing snow and ice, however, the team was able to resume work quickly. The new asphalt wearing course was completed in just two days—proof of efficient planning and the use of state-of-the-art construction technology.

Thanks to the rehabilitation, the Rossfeld Panorama Road is once again in excellent condition. Locals and tourists can continue to enjoy the impressive panoramic views of the alpine landscape, while the road now meets modern requirements for safety and driving comfort.
