Across a total of 2.200 metres of track, the foundations were laid for greater operational safety and availability—with a clear focus on quality, teamwork and efficient solutions.

Two construction methods, one goal:

  • 1.100 m conventional track renewal under full possession
  • 1.100 m mechanised renewal under single-track Possession

Scope of works in detail:
Mechanised renewal using an assembly-line process:

  • Ballast cleaning
  • Sleeper and rail renewal
  • Tamping and lining works

Conventional renewal:

  • Dismantling and formation of the subgrade
  • Installation of new sleepers and rails
  • Precise track geometry correction

Overall result:

  • 4.400 m of rails renewed3.900
